Sound
These headphones are not bass-heavy. They reproduce a harmonious sound with crystal fidelity and clear imaging. That makes me feel present at the music stage, feel the direction of sounds, and location of instruments and voices. I would call the sound live. The mids and highs are emphasized. The open back does its work and makes them sound spacious.

Comfort and design
The unique design of Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X is the special headband shape. Its circular wired headband is super comfortable and reduces pressure on the head. There is also a hanging padding that repeats the shape of the head. Its size is adjustable. Large circular ear cups are well padded and very breathable with a fully open back. They are also foldable and very lightweight with 265 g/9.3 oz. The design seems to me bulky.
