Status Audio CB-1 are closed back headphones for audio monitoring intended for music recording, mixing and casual use.
They have over ear design with a detachable cable and wired use only.
These headphones have a low impedance of 32 Ohm that makes them quite compatible with mobile devices without any extra amp. The frequency response declares 15Hz-30KHz that does not make them high end but above average hi-fi headphones decent for critical listening. The clear and strong sound at high volumes is supported by sensitivity of 97 dB.
I like the clear imaging and sound balanced at all ranges. It sounds naturally and suits all music genres without sharpness or muddines at any scale. The soundstage is not spacious, but over average for the closed back cups. The transparency is its first claim for audio recording and mixing.
It is used with a cable only. There are two cables in a set, coiled and straight. They are detachable. I find it good for safety and interchangeability if you require or prefer another length and type. There is also an adapter for ¼ (6.35 mm) jack connection.
375 g/13.2 oz is quite acceptable to wear the headphones comfortably without fatigue. The headband is thick padded and adjustable. It may feel tight on the head for long sessions. The large cups with soft suede padding reduce a little clamping force. They are foldable and are great for carrying. Unfortunately the closed cups can make your ears sweat so I would not recommend them for long listening or just make breaks once in a while.
