Audio-Technica ATH-AD500X has an open, airy, almost sparkly sound. Also, you will have an amazing 3D imaging and soundstage. The highs here are clean in some places and veiled in others.
With respect to Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X, the device creates a satisfactory soundstage for neutral listening. The audio is crisp and vocals are cleared and detailed.
Comfort and design
There is no significant difference in their weight. Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X vs ATH-AD500X weighs 265 g and the other headphones have 235 g. Whatever device you buy, it will have an adjustable headband. Both pairs of headphones have a 300cm long audio cable and its length can cause gentle tangling issues.
The model Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X can fold which makes this device at some point better than the other one. Unfortunately, you do not get a carry case in you buy one of these products.
