Read MoreJapanese pioneer of audio devices Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT vs Beats Studio3 Wireless of American production, the part of Apple corporation created by famous Dr.Dre is a respectable pair of closed over ear headphones with wired and wireless use.
The features of Studio3 are not indicated, so we will try to compare with the previous model - Beats Studio Wireless. With quite a low impedance of 38 and 45 Ohm both headphones are compatible with mobile devices. The frequency response of the first one is richer with 15Hz-28KHz vs 20Hz-20KHz. The sensitivity is 99 vs 115 dB.
AptX is supported by Audio-Technica’s ATH-M50xBT only. Its battery life is also longer with 40 vs 22 hours.
The treble of Audio-Technica is very crisp and sparkle. The bass is real, deep, and accurate, without overpowering, just the way it is recorded and I find it great for mixing as well as listening for fun as it is not fatiguing. The mids seem a little backwards.
Having tested the Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones with several different songs I am very satisfied with the sound quality that places you just like in the hall together with the singers. The lows sound a bit emphasized, but not roaring and harmonious with other ranges. The mids and highs are also very clear.
In spite of having an active noise cancelling function, it dampens, but not kills the ambient noise.
The Audio-Technica headphones have a nice padding on the headband and it is adjustable in both the devices. The cups are foldable.
The Beats seem to fit great even a large head, they are really comfortable for long sessions. The Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT is heavier vs Beats Studio3 Wireless with its 310 vs 257 g.
