Read MoreBeyerdynamic DT 1770 PRO vs Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO create a great pair of over ear headphones of a new generation. Open back 1770 model vs closed 1990 makes the main difference.
Both headphones correspond to their intended use of audio monitoring though are often chosen by amateur users for office, home, and games. In terms of frequency response both headphones reproduce 5KHz-35KHz with the total harmonic distortion of 0.05%, impedance 250 Ohm, and sensitivity, 102 dB.
The sound of Beyerdynamic DT 1770 PRO is perceived naturally and clearly. You may feel slightly muddy mids that go backwards highs and lows but that is the point that creates a specially wide soundstage and imaging.
With the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO I could not miss any sound, neutral and precise to every shade perceived like on the first rows of the concert hall. Broad soundstage and imaging made me enjoy every tune. In one word, it is alive. Detailed highs, mids, and lows without muddling.
Both models are very durable and built to last with their metal base frame and robust plastic bracing. Soft and comfortable pads allow comfortable long listening sessions. Though, both feel tight on the head.
The weight of the 1990 model is 370 vs 388 g of the 1990’s. Both come with detachable short coil and long straight cables. I like the bonus of interchangeable velour and leather pads.
