Read MoreThis time I compared over-ear headphones Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro vs Sennheiser HD 650. They are open back and can not be used without a wire.
The submitted devices have pretty high impedance. Sennheiser HD 650 has 300 Ohm whilst Beyerdynamic DT 1990 has 250 Ohm. The frequency response of the first pair of headphones is 10 Hz - 41 kHz and the second one has a bit wider range — 5 Hz - 40 kHz. Both devices can make quite loud sounds as their sensitivity is 103 dB and 102 dB respectively.
The sound of Sennheiser HD 650 can be described as warm, natural and detailed. The headphones strike an amazing balance of presence, resolution, and detail, all while still managing to be just plain pleasure to listen to.
Speaking of Beyerdynamic DT 1990, the mids here sound a little recessed, but vocals aren’t as emphasized. You have to consider that sound leakage is at a maximum here.
When it comes to comfort, Sennheiser HD 650 vs Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro is a leader as it is lighter. Its weight is 260 g, while Beyerdynamic DT 1990 is 370 g heavy. An audio cable with 3 m length comes with each of these headphones. You can regulate the height of the headband as it is adjustable. What can make the use of these appliances inconvenient is the fact that they both are not foldable. It is not possible to talk on the phone with any of these devices as they do not have a microphone.
