There are two models of Sennheiser headphones that I would like to compare. Sennheiser PXC 550 vs Sennheiser Momentum 2 is a comparison of two closed back devices with an over-ear wearing style. They can be used either as wired or wireless.

Features

The biggest distinction is in their impedance. Sennheiser PXC 550 has 490 Ohm, while Sennheiser Momentum 2 has only 28 Ohm. AptX support is available for both headphones. The sensitivity of PXC 550 is 110 dB which is a bit less than Momentum 2 has — 120 dB. Their frequency response is pretty similar. The first device works in the range from 17 Hz to 23 kHz, the second one — from 16 Hz to 22 kHz.

With these headphones, you can use Google Assistant and Siri. It is worth mentioning that the battery life of Sennheiser PXC 550 is only 20 hours whilst Sennheiser Momentum 2 can work up to 25 hours. Charging time of PXC 550 is 3 hours and Momentum 2 needs 2 hours to be charged.

Sound

Active noise cancellation is available on any headphones you use. The soundstage of Sennheiser PXC 550 is astonishingly wide and the sound quality is very crisp and crystal clear. The bass is very punchy.

Sennheiser Momentum 2 vs Sennheiser PXC 550 has a rich spectrum, with this device you can hear the subtle raspy timbre of a voice. The headphones have exceptional transparency.

Comfort and design

It can't happen that you suddenly run out of battery, as both devices have a battery level indicator. The appliances made by Sennheiser are foldable and come with a carry case. Only PXC 550 from these two has touch control. For talking on the phone you can use a built-in microphone.

The weight of the headphones means a lot and in this comparison, Sennheiser Momentum 2 is a winner as it has 140 g while PXC 550 has 227 g. An adjustable headband makes them both comfortable.
