Read MoreIn this comparison, you will see how big can be a difference between two models of headphones made by one company. I have compared the on-ear devices GRADO SR325e vs GRADO SR80e. Both of them are open-back and wired.
The considered headphones have an identical level of impedance which is 32 Ohm and the same sensitivity which is 100 dB. However, there is a distinction in their frequency response since the model SR325e has a range of 18 Hz - 24 kHz, while the headphones SR80e have a range between 20 Hz and 20 kHz.
Since the headphones are open, decent noise reduction is not expected. With GRADO SR325e you will be able to hear an absolutely staggering amount of detail. The picture of the music is incredibly accurate, super clear, managing to preserve the dynamics and depth of the material without sacrificing musicality.
GRADO SR80e vs GRADO SR325e offers a sparkling level of detail through the mid-range and treble frequencies. The sound is not as expansive as some open-backed over-ear headphones, but there is energy and sense of space.
GRADO SR325e might feel quite heavy as its weight is 355 g, which is a lot compared to GRADO SR80e that weighs only 230 g. These headphones have an adjustable headband but they are not good for traveling because none of them can be folded.
The wire that you get with the appliances is not replaceable. It is worth mentioning that they do not have a microphone and in-line control.
