Read MoreThe question of whether the headphones Fostex T60RP have a beautiful or weird design is debatable. However, now I am going to compare HIFIMAN SUNDARA vs Fostex T60RP considering not only their outlook but the technical characteristics as well. These headphones are over-ear, but the first pair is open-back, while the second one is semi-open. One more thing that they have in common is that both appliances are wired.
There is no noticeable distinction in their sensitivity as Fostex T60RP vs HIFIMAN SUNDARA has 92 dB, while the other one has 94 dB. When it comes to impedance, this feature is 37 Ohm in the case with the device made by Fostex and 50 Ohm in the case with HIFIMAN product. The thing that makes HIFIMAN SUNDARA special is a super wide frequency response, which is 6 Hz – 75 kHz. Comparatively, Fostex T60RP has a range of 15 Hz – 35 kHz.
The SUNDARA's imaging is exceptional, partially aided by good driver matching without any channel imbalance. Classical, ambient, and drone are some of the genres that suit the HIFIMAN SUNDARA best.
The highs of Fostex T60RP extend with ease and have a natural quality to them, along with an incredible sense of space and air. The bass is deep, tight, and effortless.
These headphones do not feel heavy since the weight of Fostex T60RP is 380 g and HIFIMAN SUNDARA has 372 g. They have a different length of the audio cable. The first appliance has the 120 cm long wire, meanwhile, the other one comes with the 150 cm long cable. It is detachable in both cases.
Fostex T60RP has a balanced connection and comes with a carry case, which makes the headphones different from the other model. These devices have an adjustable headband but are not equipped with a microphone and built-in buttons. Moreover, none of them folds.
