Sennheiser HD 599 is one of the top models of open back over ear headphones with a great neutral sound for critical and casual listening. It is used with wired connection. German production satisfies most users with the quality and design so I think it worth revising this device.

Sound

The sound delivery emphasizes bass and highs. The voices and instruments are very bright and crisp. The bass is strong. That creates a feeling of a V-pitched audio reproduction with a bit drawn mids. The spacy soundstage makes me enjoy the music with its airy feeling and harmonious flow.

Connectivity

The headphones Sennheiser HD 599 are connected to your audio receiver with a wire that is detachable. It is 3 m/9.8 ft long and allows me to move around the studio or to take something near having the headphones on without problems.

Comfort and design

In spite of its cumbersome look and large cups Sennheiser HD 599 is very light. It is just 250g/8.8 oz. The adjustable headband has an ample padding that is super comfy. I love the fit of large and soft ear cups. They allow a great amount of air to keep your ears cool and prevent sweating for long sessions. Their microfiber cushions have a very pleasant touch. I may wear them for hours without any fatigue. They are not foldable but that is not a con for the type of open back headphones as by design they are accounted for studio or in-house use mostly.
