This Koss Porta Pro review is about the closed-back headphones that look pretty unusual. The considered device has an on-ear wearing style and can be used only with an audio cable.
Their frequency response is 15 Hz - 25 kHz. One of the Koss Porta Pro specs I would like to mention is impedance which is 60 Ohm. Its sensitivity is pretty standard for on-ear headphones — 101 dB.
Koss Porta Pro is an incredibly accurate sounding device with an amazing clean sound across the whole frequency spectrum. Surprisingly, the Porta Pro can cast a pretty open soundstage, but only in one direction. The low-end is pretty clear and punchy whilst the mid-range is more forward without sounding harsh. Bass is very well textured, however, not as nuanced as are lots of other HiFi headphones.
The audio cable that comes with this pair of headphones is not detachable. Its length is 120 cm/4 ft. Koss Porta Pro has a 3.5 mm TRS.
The headband of Koss Porta Pro can be adjusted which makes the device pretty comfortable. A small switch on the side lets you choose between a light fit, firm fit, or somewhere in between. Despite the extraordinary construction, these retro styling headphones are foldable. You can fold the headphones up to a compact, palm-sized ball. With this appliance, you get a nice case for carrying.
Their weight is really impressive since the Porta Pro has only 60 g/2 oz. It makes the device incredible light. The earpads of the headphones have an exceptional 80s aesthetic with the original Koss brand sign. It is a pity but the headphones do not have a microphone.
