Read MoreThe wired over ear headphones Sennheiser HD 599 vs Sennheiser HD 280 PRO have the main difference in the enclosure. The model HD 599 has opened back while HD 280 PRO closed one that defines the main difference in the sound quality.
Sennheiser HD 599 vs Sennheiser HD 280 PRO has a lower impedance, 50 vs 64 Ohm. The frequency response of the first one is a little higher, 12Hz-38KHz vs 8Hz-25KHz. The sensitivity is 106 vs 113 dB. However the total harmonic distortion is equal, 0.1%.
Sennheiser HD 599 headphones have a very clean and focused sound with a little emphasis on lows and highs. The mids are acceptable but with some tracks their second plan makes the sound a bit muddy. They are not the best in sound stage, but have a strong bass impact.
Sennheiser HD 280 PRO headphones are noise-attenuating and reduce up 32dB of ambient noise. They reproduce a transparent, neutral sound. The sound stage is wider than HD 599 for their closed type.
Both headphones have soft, large ear cups with good padding and are super comfortable. Both have an adjustable headband. Both are not very stable for running and sports but also not too tight to wear for a long time.
Unfortunately, HD 599 doesn't fold. However, it has a detachable cable that allows it to disconnect if needed. It comes without a case or bag to carry safely.
Sennheiser 280 PRO seems to be very bulky but is partly foldable with twisting cups. Though the joints of cups to band seem to be weak.
The headphones are very light, 250 and 285 g.
