Read MoreIn this comparison, you will find headphones from two different brands. I am going to tell you about the features of Philips SHP9500 vs Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X. Both of them are wired and open back. These are the headphones with an over-ear wearing design.
The most significant difference is in the frequency response. The model Philips SHP9500 has a range of 12 Hz - 35 kHz, while in the case with Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X it is 5 Hz - 30 kHz. Speaking of sensitivity, this feature is almost the same, as the Philips device has 101 dB and the one made by Audio-Technica has 100 dB. Let's talk about the impedance. Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X vs Philips SHP9500 has 38 Ohm, while the other appliance has 32 Ohm.
Philips SHP9500 provides breathy, airy sound, thankfully without much fatigue. It is clear and balanced. You will hear well-defined bass, mids, and highs. The treble is right on point, bright and forward.
The model Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X has a huge soundstage but a bit weak bass. With these headphones, you get crystal clear clarity.
Speaking of comfort, it is important to mention if the headphones fold. In this comparison, only Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X has this benefit. With respect to Philips SHP9500, there is no way these headphones will fit into your handbag. Both devices have an audio cable which is 300cm long. A carry case does not come with any of them.
The convenience of wearing headphones depends on weight a lot, therefore it is worth mentioning that Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X has 265 g, while Philips SHP9500 weighs 320 g. None of them is equipped with a microphone or buttons for control. But since the appliances have a detachable cable, you can buy one with a microphone.
