Read MoreThis time I compared two pairs of over-ear headphones Sennheiser HD 569 vs Sennheiser HD 599. The first one is closed back and the second one is open back. Both of them are wireless.
The impedance of Sennheiser HD 599 is 50 Ohm and this is more than twice higher than the rate of Sennheiser HD 569 — 23 Ohm. Their frequency response is quite different as well. HD 569 has a range of 10 Hz - 28 kHz and its frequency response is balanced and smooth, while the model HD 599 works in a range 12 Hz - 38 kHz. The sensitivity is the first case is 115 dB which is a bit more than 106 dB which Sennheiser HD 599 has.
Sennheiser HD 569 has clean highs and mids, and substantial bass. You will hear a rich and detailed sound. Especially, I liked the vast and dimensional soundstage.
Now, let's talk about Sennheiser HD 599 vs HD 569. The bass here blends in tightly with the dynamics of the sounds. Mids sound very natural. However, there is sometimes a sense of a booming sound in vocals depending on the source.
The biggest disadvantage of Sennheiser HD 569 that you realize at first glance is its weight — 755 g. This feature makes the headphones not portable and heavy. In comparison, Sennheiser HD 599 has 250 g. But HD 569 has a great benefit which is an in-line microphone.
An audio cable that comes with the headphones HD 569 is 120cm long and this is much shorter than a wire of Sennheiser HD 599 — 3 m. Since Sennheiser HD 599 is open back, it might be inconvenient to wear it in the office or public transport.
